Looking for an inexpensive gift, or a way to add a little color to your table? These DIY painted spoons are for you! They are really easy to make, and you can find silverware at the thrift store or Home Goods for a really decent price. All you do is cover the top of the silverware with painters tape, then spray paint your handles, and add a final coat of food grade shellac. So easy! It’s a really fun craft! And they are super fast to make! I picked up these cheepies at walmart to paint and add to my picnic set. I used my three favorite colors, but you could use any color or combo of colors you like. These would be fun for holiday parties as well! I’m looking forward to using mine!

Free Printable Shrinky Dink Tags and Pendants

Today I have a special freebie for you guys! I love to mess around in photoshop! The other day I decided I wanted to make some new shrinky dink tags for Beau’s collar for Beau and Roux’s corner (coming in august), and I decided to make a few with little saying on them while I was in photoshop mode. I have been wanting to do a free printable for a while now for all of my fabulous readers! So here’s my little gift to all of you to say thanks for being so awesome! I hope you enjoy them all!

Other than one small smudge I think they all turned out pretty cute! These were really easy to make! You can find shrinky dink paper for inkjet printers at Michaels. Just follow the instructions in the pack, they are nice and detailed for you, with tips. It’s really quite simple. You just print, cut out, bake, flatten if needed, and seal. You do have to lighten the picture by 50% before you print because they get a lot darker when you bake them. You can lighten them in a photo editing software like photoshop elements, or I think even picasa.

Here are the printables. Please note that I have not changed the opacity. These are full bright color for those of you who wish to use them for other things than shrinky dinks. If you are using them for shrinkies, you’ll need to lighten them by 50% to make them right for baking.

It’s no secret, I’ve been lovin’ chalkboard paint for a while now! I’ve been wanting to try out chalkboard paint on a locket. However, yesterday I realized that I had some extra resin cameo settings from a while back, so I decided to go ahead and try it out. I have to say i’m really pleased with the results! I think they are adorable, and the best thing is, they are fun and super easy to make!

Here’s what you need:

*Chalkboard Paint

*Resin Cameo Settings ( I bought mine on Etsy here)

*Jewelry Bails

*E6000

*Ribbon or Chain

*Chalk or Chalk Pen

Step 1: Paint- Make sure your settings are clean and then follow the directions on the jar or your paint. It is usually two to three coats, letting them dry for an hour in between.

Step 2: Glue bails- Once the paint is good and dry and looking good you are ready to glue your bails. Put a dab of E6000 at the top of the setting on the back in the center. Then, carefully push the bail into the glue dot centering as you push it down. Let dry.

Step 3: Finish- Once your glue is good and set and dry add your chain and a clasp or ribbon.

Step 4: Personalize- With your chalk or chalk pen, personalize your necklace with your initials, a tiny message, or a doodle.

This craft is so easy. It does take a lot of drying time, but other than that, it couldn’t get simpler. You could make a big ol’ batch of them in really no time at all, and what a cute gift they’d make! So go ahead, make one for each of your favorite gals, big and small, and of course one , or ten, for yourself as well. A girl’s gotta accessorize! Hope you all enjoy!
