Easy Vintage Style “Glass” Tumbler

DSC_7539 DSC_7542Hi guys! I hope you all are having a lovely week! The weather here has been so nice! One of my favorite things about spring is that the stores start to put out all the fun to go cups for the warmer months. I saw these adorable little cut glass looking retro plastic tumblers at Walmart from Aladdin the other day and knew I had to have one. You can use them the way they are, but if you’d like to add a little more style check out my upcycle diy below…

Here’s What You Need:

*Cut Glass Aladdin Plastic Tumbler

*Permanent Sharpie Marker or Sharpie Paint

This is really really easy, all you do is just carefully color inside the indentions in the plastic with your sharpie. Set it aside to dry, and then when dry it is ready to use. It does not do well in the dishwasher, so I recommend hand washing. Or you could spray it with a food safe varnish or Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe. Hand washing is not a big deal for me as I hand wash most of my glasses anyways since they are vintage.

DSC_7540 DSC_7544I really love my little to go cup! It has held up well so far with hand washing. I think I may get a couple more. They are a great size and fit the cupholders in my truck well. You can do this same technique with any kind of cut glass pieces you find at the thrift store. It is easy and fun! I hope you’ll give it a try sometime! I’ll be back next week with more diy fun. Until then…

Happy Crafting!
