DIY Upcycled Vintage Tchotsky Ring Dishes

Hello everyone! Welcome to day nine of my 12 Days of Handmade Gifts! Some of you know by now, I have a self proclaimed obsession with vintage ceramics, or as my dad calls them, tchotskies. They are coming out of the woodwork in my house, I have so many. Whenever I see a cute little vintage figure at the flea market, or the thrift store, it’s pretty much guaranteed to be coming home with me. Today I am going to show you how to make these really easy and fun little ring dishes with vintage ceramics.

Here’s What You Need:

*Teacup Saucer

*Vintage Ceramic Figurine or a cute figurine of your choice

*E-6000

Instructions:

The first thing you need to do is gather your supplies. When shopping for a little figure, you want to look for one that has good features to hold your rings. Test it out. Cats with tails, animals with ears that are separated, or even little souvenirs like the Eiffel tower would be perfect! You can find teacup saucers easily at the thrift store, most of the time for about fifty cents a piece. Two of my saucers are vintage, and the floral one I found at Home Goods which is an overstock discount store in our area. Once you have everything picked it, it is really easy to make into a little ring dish! Apply a little E6000 to the bottom of your figurine. Then, glue it down to the center of your saucer. That’s it! This is like the easiest craft ever!

I love these little ring holders! I really don’t know which one is my favorite. This diy is so fast and easy. You could make a batch for all the girls on your list in probably under half an hour. They can also be customized to fit the personality and style of who you are gifting it to. If your Aunt loves cats, make her one with a kitty. Your teenage daughter loves woodland critters? Make her one with a deer or a bunny? You can even make them out of toy figures too. I made one for myself using an Olivia the pig mini figurine I had because she is one of my favorite things ever! I stuck her onto a vintage atomic style saucer, and now she sits on my vanity. There are so many different options and combinations. You’ll have a blast just shopping for your supplies! I can’t wait to see what you guys make! I’ll be back tomorrow with another holiday gift idea. Until then…

Happy Crafting!
