Five Minute Shabby Sweet Sweater Makeover

posted in: Crafting, DIY | 3

I absolutely adore sweaters! I also love to embellish them! When I find a sweater at Goodwill or on sale at Target I like, I always pick it up. It is so easy to take a plain sweater and jazz it up. You can always revamp your old sweaters and give them a whole new life too. Embellishments can quickly add style to your garment like adding new buttons, embroidery, a little ribbon, or lovely trims. I found this sweater recently on sale at Target for $7. I liked the color and it is a lovely sweater on it’s own, but I wanted to give it a little extra oomph. So, I sewed some sweet taupe lace trim to the bottom of the sweater. Now I have a sweater that looks like I bought it in a boutique, and it was under $12. Not bad eh? Perfect for my sister for her birthday. Doesn’t she look adorable in it! She makes a great model, as does her pup Sadie! My mom, who you can read about here, took the photos. It was a fun girls night! So remember, don’t toss your old sweaters or pass up the sale rack jumpers just because they may look plain. With a little imagination and some embellishments you can take a sweater for ordinary to awesome in no time!

Happy Crafting!
