Vintage China Jewelry Holder

posted in: DIY, jewelry | 4

I have been making jewelry holders out of old plates for a while now to display my jewelry at craft shows, but I finally decided to make one for my personal jewelry I keep on my vanity bookcase. The design is really simple, the bottom is a diner plate, the middle is a cereal bowl, and the top is a condiment dish, all separated with glass candlestick holders and glued in place. I added my favorite tea cup to the top to hold my earrings. Teacups are great for earring storage! It’s probably not the most organized of jewelry organizers, but I love it, and it works for me. It’s such a versatile design. You could use them for tea service, craft organization, or just as a general catchall. I love to repurpose, especially when it’s cute and vintage!

Awesome blog! Do you have any suggestions for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on
everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option?
There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused .. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thank you! My blog is still starting out, still in my first year. I didn’t really start seriously blogging until may of last year but one thing I wish I had done sooner is get a self hosted site. WordPress is great, and there are so many ways to customize it. There is a big learning curve with it though and it does take a lot of time to set up if you are new to the technical stuff like me. There are a lot of forums and tutorials online that can help. It really depends on your preferences and where you want your blog to go in the future. A WordPress.com blog is super easy to use and customize to a certain point. However if you ever want to put ads or sponsorship ads on your site you can’t do that with a WordPress.com it has to be a self hosted WordPress.org. I’m not sure about blogger, but I have heard good things about typepad too.

Other than that branding your blog to your style and having good content that you feel excited to share in my opinion are key.

What type of site are you starting up? If you have any other questions feel free to send me a message. You can reach me through Facebook too 🙂

      Best Wishes!
